Car Slams Into Semi; Crash Shuts Down Busy Road

Car Slams Into Semi; Crash Shuts Down Busy Road
3/24/08
WYMT, KY
Quote:
A busy central Kentucky road was shut down all morning after a crash that sent a woman to the hospital.
A semi truck driver says he was stopped at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Highway 169 in Jessamine County, when he felt someone rear-end his vehicle. The crash happened right in front of the Lowe's store.
It appears a woman, driving a passenger car didn't see the truck and slammed into the back of it. The impact of the crash sent her car under the truck.
It took rescue crews at least 30 minutes to cut her out of the car. She has not been identified and we don't know about her condition yet.
The semi truck driver, who was not hurt, says there was a child in the backseat of the car, as well as two dogs. The animals and child were not hurt.
The road was shut down for several hours for cleanup and accident reconstruction. It was expected to open at around 1:00 Monday afternoon.
