Truck wipes out gas pump Truck wipes out gas pump 3/24/08 Sequoyah County Times, OK Quote: A truck wiped out a gas pump at a convenience store north of Sallisaw Tuesday after the truck was struck by a semi. Brushy Fire Chief Bobby Caughman said the accident occurred at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spark's Convenience Store at State Highway 101 and U.S. Highway 59. Caughman said a truck was traveling on Highway 59 and was making a turn when a semi-truck clipped the truck. The impact caused the truck to be knocked into a gas pump, knocking the gas pump off its base. Jim Pence Wrecker Service reportedly lifted the truck off a gas pump guardrail, which is where the truck teetered when authorities arrived. Caughman said there was no fire, but that his department responded as a precaution. He said the new gas pumps shut themselves off when hit. No one was taken to the hospital, he said.
