Driver Killed in Rig Wreck, Interstate Closed

Driver Killed in Rig Wreck, Interstate Closed

Quote:
A truck driver was killed early Thursday along Interstate 80 in Montour County, according to state police.
The deadly crash happened around 1 a.m. Thursday in Valley Township, near Danville.

Interstate 80 eastbound is closed between the Danville exit (224) and Buckhorn exit (232).
Traffic is being detoured onto Route 11.
Troopers said part of the highway could be shut down for quite some time while they try to figure out how this deadly wrecked happened.
It appears three tractor trailers were involved in the smash-up including one carrying some type of tiles that spilled all over the roadway.
Investigators confirm one of the driver's was killed. It's not yet known if the other two were hurt.

One truck driver who was not involved in the crash talked with Newswatch 16, describing what he saw.
"A bunch of flames shooting out. It saw a trucks ran into each other. I guess we lost that driver. Guess we have to shut down and wait so they can try to figure out what happened," said South Dakoka truck driver Joe Jerry.
There is no word from police on how long Interstate 80 east will be closed.
