Semi truck catches fire

Semi truck catches fire
4/22/08

Quote:
SPOKANE VALLEY -- A semi truck's engine caught fire near the intersection of Sullivan and Trent Tuesday morning, causing a lot of smoke and a little traffic disruption.
Shortly before 9 a.m., black and white smoke could be seen pouring from the engine of the semi truck, visible from several blocks away. At first glance, it appears that something within the engine combusted and caused the engine block to start burning intensely.
The official cause of the fire, though, remains unknown and is under investigation.
The truck is parked on Sullivan on the overpass above Trent. The westbound on ramp to Trent has been shut down and should be clear by about 10 a.m.
The semi was a Northwest Industrial Truck coming from Kaiser Trentwood.
