Police in Boone County believe a man hit by a semi-truck on a Tri-State highway was trying to commit suicide. It happened on I-71 in Boone County around 4 this morning.

Air Care was called to the scene just south of the I-71/75 split near Walton. That's where Boone County deputies say the man apparently stopped his SUV and stepped out into the path of a semi-truck.

He was flown to University Hospital. Deputies say he will recover from his injuries. The truck driver was not hurt.
