I-85 Fatality in Cherokee County I-85 Fatality in Cherokee County 5/15/08 News Channel 7, SC Quote: One lane of southbound I-85 is shut down for an accident involving an 18-wheeler and two other vehicles. There is at least one fatality. The accident has taken place at the 97 mile marker. It appears that the 18-wheeler may have crossed the median barrier and stuck a vehicle in the opposite lane.
