$18 million award against Werner

Quote:
CHEYENNE -- A local jury has awarded a Colorado Springs couple more than $18 million for injuries the husband suffered when a tractor-trailer struck the car he was driving at the Interstate 25 and 80 interchange in July 2006.

According to Laramie County District Court documents, a jury found Nebraska-based trucking company Werner Enterprises Inc. and Cheryl Neal -- who was driving the tractor-trailer -- negligent in causing the crash.

Oh they won't pay...they will find some way to get out of paying..Standard trucking company.. Don't pay drivers and don't pay freight claims. and this couple can only hope and dream that they will pay.

I feel for the family and certainly wish that this would have never happened, but, if there is a lane entering the roadway, then there must be a yeild sign. I've never been through this intersection but, I would certainly have to think that the BMW was at fault for not yeilding the right of way to the big truck. It was probably a jury full of soccer moms and buisness type gents who only see big trucks as a hinderence anyway.

Unlike some other intersections, even one very close to this one, there is plenty of room to yield or exit!!!!!
