| Beer Truck Crash Backs Up Interstate Traffic (July 8, 2008—An 18-wheeler loaded with beer crashed into the center median of Interstate 35 Tuesday, backing up traffic for miles.The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday near exit 290 on the Interstate, south of Belton. The truck was southbound when the driver somehow lost control.The 18-wheeler veered off into the center median and the trailer slit open.Southbound interstate traffic backed up for about five miles as a result of the accident.It took about two hours to clear the wreckage and get motorists moving again.here were no reports of serious injury. | I went past that wreck just after they had picked up the truck and trailer around 12:30. The traffic was barely starting to roll so the back up went for a few miles. About 8:00 I came back through there and they were still picking up the beer! It was a real tragedy! |
