RCMP said the crash occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on the Trans Canada Highway, about two kilometres west of Castle Junction.
An unnamed 58-year-old driver of one truck died at the scene. The driver of the second rig was taken to Banff Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

That's a nasty stretch of road with many accidents. Hopefully they will decrease dramatically as they are currently twinning it. Unfortunately, the current construction is contributing to the carnage. There was an accident along there earlier this year involving five trucks with three fatalities. The unusual part was that all three fatalities were from the same truck ... not an unusual arrangement amongst certain ethnic groups.
