| Good one from US Xpress here in my hometown today I was travelling north on through town when I saw this guy getting ready to make the turn, and as usual, no CB on to hear us screaming not to do it. It was not cool. He missed the truck route and apparently didn't see all the signs saying low clearance 12' 9". But, accidents happen... I hope he had money to get home on. I am sure he was fired on the spot. One of the best ones I have ever seen was a driver from the same company literally rip the entire axle/sliders clean out from under his trailer. I think it was up in Maryland. The t/s has those concrete jersey barriers in the t/s and the driver went zipping thru and cut it too short. Truck made the corner fine but trailer hung up on the wall and the axles was ripped clean off of the trailer. Driver jumps out with a "WTF" look on his face. I walked over and informed him that he needs to call home for money and a bus ticket , and start cleaning out his truck because , and he will be fired and left stranded at the t/s. |

| I know we were all rookies at one time, but this was just tooooooo funny. I think the picture was so, so funny as well since the 12' 9" sign was right in the shot with the dead truck. The sad thing is that myself and other drivers in my pack were trying like heck to get his attention, but he had this determined look on his face. I guess no one listens to a dump truck. Obviously US Xpress will most likely give him the axe almost immediately, especially since he got a ticket for the mess. In the drivers defense, this area is a little tricky, but the truck route was well marked. Here's the thing: He stated he was looking for US 52, but he turned off US 52 onto Harvey street to get hung up. Second guess wasn't a good idea...

| In North Little Rock, Ar there is a low railroad overpass that a driver will try to go under every now and then. Plenty of warning signs, but they try it anyway. But, on July 16, 2008 a LOCAL driver tried to make it under the bridge. Peeled about 75% of the roof off the trailer. |

The fact that the trailer floor collapsed (rather than peeling off the panels) tells me it hit pretty hard. I'm guessing this guy didn't slow down at all.
