Bronx Walkway Collapses After Dump Truck Accident Bronx Walkway Collapses After Dump Truck Accident 8/8/08 Quote: NEW YORK (CBS) ― A dump truck struck a pedestrian bridge on Waterbury Avenue in the Bronx, causing it to collapse onto the southbound side of the Bruckner Expressway. Crews are currently trying to fix the problem, but until then traffic is moving very slow. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. The accident, which happened at 2:15 a.m. Friday, involved a dump truck heading southbound.
