A transport truck travelling south on Hanwell Road caught on fire Saturday evening, spilling 800 litres of diesel fuel and destroying everything its driver owned.
The fire, which started in the truck's engine shortly after 5 p.m., burned for 30 minutes before it was considered under control.
"I was just driving along and I saw some smoke coming from under the hood and I just bailed out," said driver Cecil Stockley, who had left the Lincoln Big Stop a few miniutes earlier.
