CSX train hits 18-wheeler

CSX train hits 18-wheeler
8/11/08
NBC Augusta, South Carolina
Quote:
A Tignall, Georgia, man is recovering at MCGHealth after the semi-truck he was driving was hit by a train! The accident happened Monday afternoon in McCormick County, on Highway 283 in Plum Branch.

Witnesses say the driver of the 18-wheeler is lucky to be alive. A spokesman with South Carolina Highway Patrol says the CSX train and the semi were traveling in the same direction down Highway 221. The driver of the semi, Christopher Rounds tried to turn left onto Highway 283. That's when the train hit the 18-wheeler. The rear part of the semi was the most damaged.
CSX says the train's engine received more than one million dollars in damage. The semi was carrying mulch. Highway patrol tells NBC Augusta Rounds caused the accident.

Never race a train, it's always bad for everyone when the train wins. The semi was turning left to cross the tracks, the rear of the trailer was most damaged.

I wonder what kind of mulch that truck was carrying?
