Big Rig Flies Off Overpass

Big Rig Flies Off Overpass

Quote:
SAN ANTONIO -- A truck driver was injured after his big rig flew off a highway overpass Tuesday morning on the city's far northeast side.

Live Oak police said the truck was headed east on Loop 1604 near Lookout Road when the big rig hit a slick spot. The driver lost control and the truck crashed through a sign, went off an overpass and landed on a turnaround lane below a bridge.

The truck, which was not towing a trailer, didn't hit any vehicles below.
The driver was hospitalized for back pain and didn't appear to have violated any traffic laws, police said.

San Antonio is in Texas.

But I was of the impression that when you lose control on rain slick roads, it was considered driving too fast for conditions.
