Big Rig Crashed Into Woods & Bursts Into Flames

Monroe County Deputies are saying the driver of a tractor trailer is lucky to be alive after he crashed his rig Sunday morning.

The Sheriff's Department say the driver was headed eastbound, just west of Route 490 near Exit 4 near Chili around 6am when he apparently lost control of his vehicle. They said the driver then careened off the shoulder of 490, hitting a vacant parked car. The impact of the crash sent the tractor trailer into the woods where it burst into flames.

The driver quickly escaped the fire, but the truck and it contents were destroyed.
The driver suffered minor injuries. No one else was injured.
