18-wheeler wreck, fuel spill close Eastex Freeway lanes

An 18-wheeler's fuel tank ruptured when the truck collided with another vehicle in the northbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway about 5 a.m. today.
The accident, near the Aldine Mail Route exit, continues to block two lanes of the freeway. Early reports indicated that the truck was the only vehicle involved and that it had overturned, but authorities now say it remained upright.
At least two other vehicles were involved, according to later reports by Houston TranStar. No information was available on whether anyone was injured.
