I-15 closed when semi truck hits overpass I-15 closed when semi truck hits overpass 9/4/08 KSL-TV, UT - Quote: There's a big mess on I-15 in Utah County tonight. The accident happened at about 7:30 tonight. Two giant tanks came off of a semi truck when it hit an overpass in American Fork. The overpass has a clearance of only 14 feet 7 inches, and the load exceeded that. One of the tanks smashed an SUV, which then caught on fire. It amazes me how many people can't seem to read. There is also a sign about a mile before that overpass advising overheight vehicles to exit.

14' 7" and he was too high for that? Where was the pilot/pole car for that one? Definitely should have been a permitted load. Somebody will get spanked for that one.
