Man in wheelchair killed by big-rig truck in downtown L.A. 9/5/08 Los Angeles Times, CA Quote: A man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a big-rig truck today in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said. The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, said d'Lisa Davies, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Davies described the victim as a 45-year-old man. No other details were immediately available, she said.
