Tunnel Hill police officer Scott Reneau and his partner, Ulk, the department’s drug dog, did not work Tuesday night after Reneau was struck by a tractor trailer during a traffic stop on I-75 near exit 341 in Tunnel Hill shortly before 3:30 a.m.

Reneau was treated and released from Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tunnel Hill city manager Blake Griffin said.

The Georgia State Patrol was still investigating Tuesday evening and had not completed its report, an operator at the Dalton post said.
