The fuel spill you are talking of probably wasn't B100. If it was B5 it barely had bio in it. B20 would be a little more.

As for the bio degradable element I mentioned that info came from a Bio Diesel flyer I saw a few yrs ago. Things may have changed by now.
Is corn also apart of Bio Fuel ?

The spill on the Flathead East Shore highway , unfortunately , was DIESEL.
Driver going to fast.

Blends of diesel and bio-diesel wouldn't be much better in a spill than would straight diesel, any spilled fuel that wasn't cleaned up would have to be broken down by bacteria.
driver behind the wheel going to fast.
I drove a gas tanker when I took my CDL.........I enjoyed it , I like driving it relaxes me in a way , I don't think about anything else when I am behind the wheel of a big rig. I get in a zone and turn the radio wayyyyyy down and just drive and I go slower than most.
The tanker's reminded me of a BIG Ship at sea .
If money gets any tighter with my job I may have to go down and apply local and haul fuel on short runs or in town.
I will be dressed like the "Terminator" when driving in this area, Big sunglasses, big smile and just drive, with that get the out of my way. look on my face , I think I'll get a skeleton and put it on my grill.

They make ethanol out of corn. Flex fuel cars can burn that. Regular cars get horrible MPGs on ethanol. My wife's car gets 100 miles less per tank on ethanol than it gets on regular gas.

That's because ethanol (depending on the mixture) requires roughly 30% more fuel to reach stoich.

biodiesel is made from any kind of vegetable oil, new or used... that is chemically processed to be compatible with diesel engines.... it comes out a lot less toxic then petro-diesel and is a solvent... if you have old-style rubber fittings and seals in your engine, it will eat through them...
