A 46-year-old Hemet man died yesterday after being hit by a big-rig while walking to work at a trucking company in Bloomington, according to San Bernardino County coroner's officials.
Gregory Willis was hit at 5:48 a.m. Thursday while in a crosswalk approaching the trucking company along the 18000 block of Slover Avenue.
As Willis was walking, a driver started up the tractor, made a right turn and hit the pedestrian, investigators said in a written statement. Willis was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he died an hour after the accident.
The California Highway Patrol and Cal-Osha are investigating.
