Fiery Crash Kills

This happened at 12:30 this afternoon and is still causing all kinds of issues. I only live 5 min from there, and travel up and down that part of 35E everyday for work.. This is sad, and will give more amo against truck drivers.. Also I can bet, that for the next few days, the cops will be all over that stretch of high way pulling over any truck that looks or acts suspicious..

CARROLLTON, Texas - A woman who had stopped alongside Interstate 35E is now dead following a fiery crash.
According to police in Carrollton, the wreck happened just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 2400 block of I-35E.
Police said a 52-year-old woman had pulled off into the breakdown lane on the south-bound side of the interstate for an unknown reason. Her vehicle was alongside another abandoned vehicle.
Witnesses said a truck driver drifted over and hit the cars from behind. The truck then hit a retaining wall and burst into flames.
The woman had to be cut from the wreckage of her vehicle and then was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. She was later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said the 64-year-old truck driver was also transported to a local hospital with

This is so sad. The truck driver was severely burned and died in the hospital. He's my brother's friend's father. I don't know his name but he lived in Warren, PA and was a veteran driver of 20 or 30 years.

At a guess, it sounds like he fell asleep - athough there could be any number of explanations. It'll bring more calls from organizations like CRASH to restrict our HOS rules, and will spur on the move to EOBRs. We are our own worst enemies.

I came N on 35 E one time and a truckdriver in the R lane wanted ahead of everyone where the R lane ends and just sped up and ran an older woman in the center lane into me in the L lane and never slowed down. I only know it was blue Anteater.
