Truck strikes railroad overpass in Great Falls

Quote:
A beer-delivery truck was too tall to clear a railroad overpass in Great Falls on Tuesday.
A Devine Brothers truck that was cleared for thirteen and a half feet tried to go under a twelve and a half foot clearance overpass. The incident displaced the train tracks on the bridge by about eight inches. It also caused a malfunction in the railroad crossing signal on 9th Street North.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe is working to get the tracks back in working order. Eric Schroedel, BNSF Assistant Roadmaster, said, "It should be back in service by noon to one o'clock tomorrow afternoon...for train traffic..it shouldn't affect anybody's delivery of anything."
Schroedel says only two mixed freight trains will be affected; the trains will be held until the tracks are reopened.
Vehicle traffic under the bridge was detoured for about ninety minutes as officials cleared the scene. The driver of the truck is expected to be cited later.

There is no excuse for that....he wasn't looking or he would have seen that big yellow sign that is obstructed by the trailer...my money says it reads this...12'6".

Yep, it does. By clicking on the link it shows the bridge without the truck. The numbers are not in the drivers favor.

Consider this,,
Maybe it's a new employee, who wasn't aware of the low bridge, and or no one told him about it, when he was being trained by his employer.

Yes, it i wonder why he didn't see the clearnce signs. And i wonder how mach advance warning there is, leading up to this.

Yes i have to say, he's probly unemployed now.
