Overturned Tractor Trailer Slowed Traffic in Greeneville Tuesday Morning; Driver in Hospital
Quote:
Greeneville, Tenn.—Greene County has seen its share of big rig crashes this week. This morning was the third, and it slowed Greeneville traffic dramatically or hours.
A tractor trailer overturned on a yard, passed the opposing lanes, across the road.
It happened just after 7:00 a.m. As soon as the Greeneville Fire Department got there, they blocked all westbound traffic as they worked to secure the scene and rescue the driver.

Is it just me, or does the opening paragraph of the news story make no sense?

"...passed the opposing lanes..."

This reporter wrote another story last week, if I recall, using terminology that was more suitable for a 5th grade essay than a professionally written news item.

If I'm missing something, fire away. I need some excitement today....on a 34 in Orange, Tx.

I can kind of see that, but what about the part about the yard?

It's just a poorly written sentence.

I'm visualizing a truck overturning on a yard with such force that it slides through the fence, across the opposing lanes, and hits the bank.

I've got way too much time on my hands!
