Car slides under trailer on I-95 in Philly; 4 dead

Quote:
PHILADELPHIA – State police in Philadelphia say a car has gone out of control and has slid under a tractor-trailer on a major highway, killing four people.
Police say the car was speeding and changing lanes while heading south on Interstate 95, one of the nation's longest highways. They say it was in a left lane just north of the center of the city early Sunday when the driver turned the steering wheel to the right before losing control and hitting the rig.
All four people in the car died at the scene. One of them was ejected.
The rig's driver was uninjured.
The crash temporarily closed parts of the southbound lanes of I-95, which connects 15 states from Florida to Maine. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This is a tragedy, for all involved.

With that said, it sounds like some dumb-a$z 4-wheeler was playing "chicken" with a big rig, and paid the ultimate losing price. So, so sad, and senseless...

my heart goes out to the truck driver who has to live with this the rest of his life and to the families of the ones who lost their lives out of stupidity.

Ann,

Spot on. This driver has a scar in his memory and will more than likely remember this for a long time if not all his life. Very sad and for this reason I did a speach on how to maneuaver around the vicinity of a tractor trailer. My class appaulded me for doing this.

The worst part is that they will try there best to find one 15 min error in the drivers logs. If it is there, even not on that day. To where they can say he may not have been there he will be charged and loose everything. I am about so sick of that law it is not even funny.
I feel bad for 3 people that died in that car and there familys. If it was mechanical failure, then I feel bad for the driver of the car also. And I feel sorry for the driver of the truck that has to deal with this.
Many drivers never want to drive again after an accident like that, even if it is not there fault.

I have personal experiance with this kind of wreck. I was hit head on by another big truck. He died, I spent three days in the hospital. When they done the the interview with me they only wanted to know from what time I got started that morning until the accident. Now with that being said if you hit someone and kill them, they may look a little more hard. One more thing if you do have an accident and someone does die first thing you want to say is I want a Lawyer. Most people dont know that when a accident happens and someone dies they are doing a homiside investigation.
