I know this is an old thread, but for what its worth, I just spent 11hrs going from Texarkana to Cape Girardeau. East bound I40 at the 167 in Ar had an identical accident, then there was another closure at the e. Bound 208 and that was just the beginning. I stopped counting jack knifed rigs at 71 on the west bound side. I've never seen so much twisted metal in all my years of trucking. It was complete carnage.

We went thru there last night What A Mess it looked looked a junk yard with all the trucks and 4 wheelers twisted and wrecked. 10 hrs from memphis to the 221mm west bound. Arkansas really dropped the ball clearing the roads of ice, amazingly west of little rock was clear and dry with only a few icey spots.

That 6-vehicle accident on I-40 WB in AR looked absolutely horrific. I'm guessing a semi crashed through a jack knifed trailer that was on the interstate? That trailer was completely ripped in half, and both halves were quite some distance away from each other.

It appeared the fed ex ground ran through it then hit the transam. I did see that the Transam was loaded with budwiser. Did anyone notice the rolled over reefer still running?

I went from west memphis,ar to prescott a few days ago during the carnage. I got picture but due to the loss of life in most of them I don't think most have the stomach for them. 11 hours and thats the distance I covered. I did get a good picture of what was left at the 208 after the bodies were removed. If only one died it would be a surprise. The last picture is just to show what the roads were like. I have posted some of the cleaner pictures in hopes that this will remind people if you do not shut it down like you should. Then please slow down. that whole day I might have seen 25mph twice. I was the westbound werner getting in everyone's way buy going nice and slow given the conditions and distance it takes to stop on ice.
