Fiery Crash Shuts Down Portion Of Interstate 35 Monday
Fiery Crash Shuts Down Portion Of Interstate 35 MondayTEMPLE (September 20, 2010)— Both the southbound and northbound sides of Interstate 35 and the highway access road at Midway Drive in Temple were closed Monday morning while crews responded to an 18-wheeler wreck. Northbound traffic was moving again by mid-morning.
Earlier,Temple police spokesman Brad Hunt said officers were working to find a way around the accident, but he asked that anyone who can avoid driving south through Temple. Thomas Pechal, of the Temple Fire and Rescue Dept., told News 10 the 18-wheeler jackknifed and was blocking the entire southbound roadway.
The cab of the truck burst into flames and firefighters are working to extinguish the flames. The condition of the driver is not known.
Initial reports from the scene indicate the highway may be closed for hours.
I got caught in this parking lot this morning, in both directions with no choice.
I hope the Texas Express driver is doing ok, the cab was burnt to the ground. I did not see any other vehicles involved but they did manage to lay it across all three lanes.

I guess I was wrong, another vehicle was involved. Hope the driver is alright, they made no mention of them in the update.
