Large fire erupts as gas tanker falls off Loop 410 overpass

    I was able to see the smoke from this mess about 50 miles east of the 410 intersection.

    On the link to story from op there is a comment at bottom of story and it's from the wife of the driver that rolled. Stating everything is ok .

    I don't feel so silly now, because I thought maybe I was the only one who couldn't see where he "fell off".

    This guy is a close friend of mine. He is a father of one but dad to now five. They just had a baby girl not a month ago. He is a very nice guy and is very luck to be alive. He is at home now, they released him from the burn unit this morning.

    He said the cause of the wreck was that the trailer struck a curb and the trailer hopped and became unstable. Although I cant think of any curbs in that area to make this happen. I dont know for sure what happened but I do know we are lucky to still have him with us!

    Just guessin'... maybe he overcorrected enough in the curve to get a good slosh in the tank. The surge may have pushed that trailer into something causing him to loose control.
