Our company runs to a terminal in Miami, but has stops along the way, in several different states, the route can vary depending on where they drop first.

We also run all over getting meat to NYC, often through Chicago, Detroit, or places in PA, sometimes, we go to Baltimore and then up to Brooklyn; load planning isn't always the most direct route.

I'll bet that his 11 and 14 was up at 4am, and he had to drive the whole 11 to make his appointment. If he could have napped for a few hours without burning his 14, this disaster could have been averted.

There is a JBS Swift plant in Souderton, PA which you would drive 95 into FL. There are also numerous Tyson/IBP and other meat/pork/poultry plants scattered along the I95 corridor.

A reefer trying to kill himself instead of getting the rest he needs Not really shocking though I guess. Sure would be nice if they could find a bridge piling instead of screwing up someone's day.
