There were 2 other crashes on I-70 today between Terre Haute and Indy in the aftermath of the concrete truck wreck, one involving a big truck. I had to sneak home on 40 to get around the backups. INDOT has 70 screwed up from the 13 to the 59 right now and crashes in the construction zones are distressingly common. Please be cautious!

Live to your 70s only to be crushed by a concrete truck. And why is there this type of road construction being done during rush hour?

Since I dont know the details about the spot the concrete was poured....the driver should have known how close to the hole he was and if it was a tight spot to get out of then one of the ground workers should have been spotting him to avoid running into the hole. Either way, I feel bad for the driver. I went by there about 10 minutes after it had happened. The driver was sitting on the ground and appeared to be ok minus being shook up after realizing that he had just killed someone. I was westbound in a backup and seen a Koch truck on the shoulder after he put a nice big dent into the hatchback of a small suv. I agree with Don, please be very cautious going through there, its a bad deal on both sides.

I was east bound there today, Doing 55 in the 55 mph zone (I evened slowed down and the truck runs 62 mph [yet I don't run it that all the time]) the left lane was closing and a fast truck didn't want to be behind me even though 2 highway workers were by the left shoulder pointing to him to get over. I wished he'd have passed me, because he was less then 15 feet behind me the short distance, they were painting lines.
Too many trucks are getting burnt up on that stretch from tailgating.
