Prayers to the friends and families..
The other day I seen a motorcyclist tailgating a big truck on a 2 lane highway. He was so close if the driver had to brake hard, the biker would not have known.

I remember an accident up there by yardstick 196 I think it was. Same scenario. Sympathies to all parties involved. Seems to be kind of an accident prone area.
Be safe out there

Man, 23, killed in motorcycle accident on I-10 in New Mexico

A 23-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon in New Mexico.
The incident occurred about 3:30 p.m. eastbound on Interstate 10, near mile marker 114, said Lt. Robert McDonald, a spokesman for the New Mexico State Police.
The victim was identified as Andrew Peru, of Bayard, a community East of Silver City, McDonald said.
Investigators attributed the cause of the accident to strong wind gusts, he said. I-10 was closed to traffic for about an hour, McDonald confirmed.

Back in 2001 when I worked for Pepsi, I witnessed a motorcycle crash on the railroad bridge not far from there. It was under construction and the road was reduced to one lane in each direction over one side of the bridge. I was training another driver on my route. As I crested the bridge, I saw a Goldwing motorcycle pulling a trailer going the other direction. He drifted too close to the divider and jerked away. I looked into my mirror and to my horror saw the trailer fly up as the motorcycle rolled. I got to the other side, stopped and dialed 911. Traffic began to stop as I talked to the Deming dispatcher. Soon, the Luna Co. Sheriff and State Police were on scene.
I later learned from my friends mom who was a nurse at the Hospital in Deming that it was a retired couple from out of state and both had died in the crash.

I'm going with the or not. I'm not sure where you came up with this, but it certainly is not legal in Kansas. Motorcycles can ride in a single lane, more than one abreast, however they can not pass other motor-vehicles in this fashion. If you want to test your theory, try it in the presence of a LEO and see what happens..
