This is why I decided not to finish my motorcycle training after 2 days into it. You could be the best biker out there, with tons of talent and ability, and you're relying upon schmucks, teenies on cells, and half blind old ladies not to turn you into road kill. No thanks.

    allniter Thanks this.

As a biker myself I find that very sad, I'm only too aware its easy it could happen though!

I'm a biker for many years but you're absolutely correct, you are the most vulnerable person on the road and you are at the mercy of other people's mistakes, I myself am recovering from a crash where gravel was spilt on a bend on the road a couple of months back.

Yup, I left out poor road conditions. I hope you're doing a lot better now, Sm.

I grew up on dirt bikes and then made the move to street bikes. I love bikes but gave it up when someone pulled out of their driveway on me. The roads as congested as they are and all the under attentative drivers out there it makes bike riding a death trap.

If you ride there is a good chance you will be in at least one incident in your lifetime. I personally had two friends and one coworker killed on bikes. Way too many.

I loved riding too, didn't have a car for years even, just rode a bike. After not being able to walk for three years and 9 surgeries later due to some lady that didn't bother to look before she turned, I gave it up.

I started on road bikes at 18 yrs old with an rg250, I've been in a few accidents over the years usually been knocked off, a couple were my own fault, young and reckless, then I made the move to track racing, speeds in general are higher but it's a controlled envoinment plus there is less objects to hit and nobody to drive a car out of a side road at you ( or getting volvo'd as we call it here )
I agree the roads are getting too congested and biking on roads is a very dangerous activity nowdays
