he's 68. i highly doubt he was texting.

i just don't see an old man doing stupid crap like that like the younger generation does. he may not even be tech savy on electronics. and unlike the younger generation. he probably has a life and does his communication the old fashioned way. on a pay phone. WHEN he needs to talk.

what happened. can only be answered by him.

why he's hiding. can only be answered by him.

and who knows. MAYBE, there was a guy sitting on the passenger floor. out of camera range. holding a gun to his head.

but with his driving record. mercer must be pretty relax with their contractor standards. although they probably won't be now.

What do you mean "if it turns out to be a hit and run"? He hit them.....and he ran. Even if it was an accident, he's still screwed because he left the scene of an accident, failed to render aid, left a fatality, etc. etc... If for some reason it was NOT his truck that hit the pair, that's a different story, but the man has already called a lawyer, so he knows he has done something wrong....

What are you mean he didnt do something stupid?? He did just that.. You can't get any more ignorant than committing a hit-and-run causing a fatality.

Dude, were you there as an eye witness? All we have is 2 dead people right now and a truck going through a toll plaza miles away with damage. Yes it points towards that particular truck, but all the facts aren't in. Even that hood rat OJ was prosecuted and convicted in the court of public opinion, and we saw how that turned out. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty. And when that day comes and this driver is convicted, I will be the first to say good riddance.

I said texting or something of that nature... The ohone could have been ringing and he was looking at the phone screen to see who was calling...Lots of scenerios... Just cause someones 68 doesn't mean there not with the current times/trends

That was exactly my point, and the sole driver is exactly where any blame/fault should lay, and end there.
My problem was the statement by the principal at the deaf school, which she communicated via the news reporter, and she called for "increased safety measures within the commercial trucking industry".
My point is why does she "broaden" the scope to the "trucking industry", instead of limiting her "call for action" to the sole one at fault... the driver.

In reference to your ending comment, "Not to mention the way a lot of drivers drive and and nowadays and people do see this. Got no one to blame but ourselves."...
True, there are many bad drivers out there. But they are both in the trucking industry AND 4-wheel motorists.
As far as you saying "Got no one to blame but ourselves."...
I disagree with that statement. Neither me nor you (or any good driver) can be held the least bit accountable if we are good drivers, for the wrongful or bad actions of others.
That's entirely out of my/our hands.

No evidence?? I don't know.. Maybe just the damage to the right front corner of his truck which happens to be on the same side where the car was at.. And also been caught on the turnpike surveillance camera at around the time of the accident happened... If that isn't evidence Gee I don't know what is

$2 bill says he's waiting until he'll pass a drug test before he turns himself in.
