They'd send reinforcements if a trk driver lost a tire, check logs, make you do a drug test do a level one,go after the trucking company, enforce more laws, shall I go on?

But, but it wasn't making any noise before it came off! That was a case of negligence by someone, it is a shame it cost an innocent their life.

Right or wrong, it seems as though that the truck driver is always in the wrong, HORRIBLE form of discrimination.

I think she went to jail? From the article...

"She called me immediately when she lost her tire, and I told her I'll be right there. Then later she called me and said, 'Don't come. I'm in the police car,'" Blanco's sister Rocio Fernandez said.

When I was 17 I made the dumb mistake of buying a set of Cragars off a Dodge Charger and put them on my Olds 442. Little did I know back then each vehicle has their own lug nut design. I didn't get a mile down the road and the left rear wheel started shaking bad. I had no where to pull over. The next thing I knew my rear end was going airborne as I got a view of pavement outside the windshield. :biggrin_2555: I put the tire back on and took them back and got my money back. :)

Moral of the story is I only had a few seconds warning. First the shake and then the Oh ####. :)

This sounds like someone didn't tighten the nuts properly or used the wrong kind. It was from a recent error.

Or the axle bearing failed and sheared the axle shaft. Either cause there is noise and vibration preceding the catastrophic failure.

We can rule that out by the photos but yeah that's possible. We also have to remember a woman was driving. Oops! :biggrin_25515: Mechanical stuff, stop hitting me! :)

It was about a month ago I got behind a Astro at a red light. I seen it's RR wheel wobbling super bad. I wasn't sure if it was warped. If it was it was the worst case I've ever seen. I tried to get their attention but they changed lanes and pulled into a C-store before I could get over so I went on. Surely they known about it.

Oh, ha, I did not even see the other photos! Yes, clearly the wheel fell off for lack of fasteners.

It is amazing what people will ignore with total disregard for the safety of others.

Well... when you're wrong you're wrong, and that's not discrimination.

The typical truck driver seems to be completely unaware of any reason they should be more attentive or accountable than the typical 4-wheeler.
