I can't stress enough how serious a situation "wasp in the truck" is. I was doing food service delivery on a team route one day and we'd just switched places. I was driving and had just finished my breakfast when I took off down the road and came to a stop at a traffic light. That's when I saw it.
You ever seen the kind of wasp on TV that hunts down, stings and eats full-grown falcons? Imagine that, but normal wasp sized. Actually, it was probably just a normal wasp.
Anyways, there it was, sitting on the window on my side of the truck and I just know it was looking right at me. It could smell the fear. It knew that it was more in control of that truck than I was at that point and I knew #### well that pure basic human "oh crap" instinct would kick in and dictate my actions if that thing so much as twitched a leg. My conundrum was this: I was stopped at a light and had to roll down the window - a manual roller, the kind you have to reach way down for, which meant I had to lean dangerously close to the window and the wasp to try to get it out of the truck. Time was of the essence and I was thankful that I was stopped when I saw it, and not doing 60mph (they govern our trucks really low for some reason) down the highway when it landed on my face or something because I probably would have destroyed a seafood store, too. I carefully rolled down the window and when it got to where the wasp was about to be scraped off by the rubber, I got a little scared because I wasn't sure how to proceed. Just then, the light turned green, the wasp lifted off and buzzed carelessly out the window, never to be seen again. We finished the route without incident.
Long story short, your windows don't necessarily have to be down for a wasp to be in the truck. -
That driver was ALL Coked up !
Milkman719 and c64basic Thank this. -
I had a big old moth suddenly appear once when my windows were up in my pickup. Moths freak me out and I nearly went off the road. Assuming his story is true I can also somewhat relate - that wouldn't be a good situation in a truck. -

Nice goin', Cal. Probably had to think of something quick, let's see, deer ran in front of me, nah, dropped a cigarette, nah, oh, wasp flew in, yeah, that should stick. (With windows closed?) Ok, I've had wasp's and bee's fly in, when widows were open, and it is pretty tense, but this just looks like the bus stopped and he wasn't looking. Sure did a number on the building. The good news is, the fire hydrant(with guards) is ok.

I pulled up on an accident along with other vehicles a few years ago in IA. Car in ditch up against a tree, the dad is running around screaming, we pull his toddler out of the back window, he's OK. His mom is dead, under the car. The reason? Dad was trying to kill a fly inside the car and lost control. A F*****g fly!
