I believe it was TV that did that, not AC.

Kind of hard to slow down and space out when 4 wheelers keep jamming in front of you.

Yep, this is a good reason to set speed limiters in cars to the state speed limit they are registered in. So in NJ and NY your car will only go 65. The boxes are already in the cars. Most are already limited at 130. Who needs to go 130 on a public highway?

We need to get away from tickets and start taking away licenses too. The cars are the ones out of control, much more so than the trucks. There are way too many aggressive car drivers and too many cars on the road. Let's thin the herd and start culling these aggressive, wreckless car drivers off the roads.

Dang he knocked down the concrete noise walls. Article doesn't state the sex, race, creed, color or immigration status of the offending sedan driver.

Somebody's gonna get a bunch of free lumber. Probably one of the hands at the wrecker company.

I grew up in Bernards Township NJ, the location of this accident. I used to ride my go cart on this section of interstate before it opened in 1965 when I was 12.
The frequency and intensity of these accidents can only increase given the perfect storm of roads over capacity, distracted drivers of all types, and the perceived need to "get there" by all motorists, not just class 8 drivers.
Plenty of blame to go around. And lawyers to handle the cases.

    48Packard Thanks this.

I agree somewhat. This evening the wife & I drove to Texarkana. Seems to me they're doing some unnecessary work on I-30 east pf Texarkana, work that will not help the traffic, but work that will cause traffic problems & probably some wrecks, perhaps some bad ones.

Unfortunately, many times the idiot survives the wreck he/she caused and the sane person is injured or killed. Also, don't you know? All the stupid people are breeding. Smart people reproduce responsibly or not at all. So there will always be more stupid people around.

No way to tell here who's at fault, clear that truck driver hauling lumber load died. 2nd link seems to show driver deceased, still in cab while fire crew sprays front of truck. As much a pain as some 4-wheelers are, it's the tailgating truckers that scare me.

Too much 'hurry up' out there. Too much 'you're in my way'.

Too much 'get outta my way'.

A key to safe driving's to always maintain stopping space in front of rig so that you can get stopped without leaving your lane if all Hell breaks loose.

Yes, that means slowing and adjusting to get that cushion back after that 4-wheeler pulls right in front of you. Just do it.
