SS are nice for sure most of the time. Love them in the rain but #### do the track horribly when there are huge ruts in the road. If you aren't careful they can swing you from one side of the road to the other very fast.
Agreed! Sorry about that. Just frustrating the people that think a company is bad because they didn't succeed at it them selves. You have to work in this industry to be paid well.
I agree they are great in the rain. Haven't used them yet in winter, hope they aren't too bad on the snow.
I hope they will be OK as well. Without the details it's hard to know what caused that accident but someone's hopes and dreams just got slowed down a little.
Well this company does pay very well for company drivers. With no experience they start you off at ¢43/mile plus all the fuel bonuses and extra pay you can average almost ¢50/mile here.
There is no deposit here unless you plan on purchasing the truck at the end of the lease. Yes you can walk away from the lease at any time but you loose the huge completion of lease bonus that ranges anywhere from $15-25k.
This company is not the right fit for everyone. You have to work hard, be onetime all the time and be willing to run. There are other companies out there for people that want to not work so hard but you get paid accordingly too.
As for this accident, it looks bad and I hope everyone was OK. I am sure the investigation will eventually tell us what caused it, bad weather, driving to fast, fatigue, or a third party. Accidents happen and when it's a semi truck it's never really a small one.
You'll also find that most accidents happen with new drivers that are between 8-12 months of experience. That's usually where they get over confident with the truck. Most newbies and train trainees are still intimidated by the truck and take is slow, usually.

If you notice though, that person hasn't commented back about it. It just frustrates me how people on here love to bad mouth a company for no reason other then because the color of the trucks suck or they drive to slow or they heard from a friend who heard it from a cousin who heard it from his uncle 3 times removed that Prime is a bad company so it must be true.
Yes there are a lot of assumptions there in that statement as well.
Anyways, yes I attacked without know if he failed at Prime, but the assumption was made based off how he attacked Prime to begin with. -
the company I just left switched from paper
to e-logs. Log book violations went down to almost nothing.
speeding tickets jumped over 40 percent.
Safety couldn't figure out how they got
so many speeding tickets with 65mph trucks.
simple, when the speed limit slowed the drivers didn't.123456 and WesternEmpire Thank this. -
6 Speed Thanks this.

At least the driver had enough common sense to dump all of his freight on the frontage road instead of the middle of the interstate. Quick thinking on his part.

Just to clarify---to the poster that originally asked about SS--Wasn't implying YOU were making an excuse--just stating MY opinion when someone Claims SS are the problem,,,,
BUT--to the point of being on e-logs and CANT slow down--I swear the next time I hear this EXCUSE--Im gonna PUKE...it is quite frankly--one of the most absurd things I have heard in ALL my years out here...as if your e-log CONTROLS your right foot....yeah and my DOG ate my homeworkredoctober83, NavigatorWife and flood Thank this. -

not all Stupid singles are the same just like not all trucks are the same
some trucks like them and some trucks don't
my 2008 (company) Volvo 780 with X-One XDA was great on snow and rain until they got down to 8/32 then they would hydroplane in the rain when bobtailing.... not fun going up the hill southbound on I-75 in downtown Chattanooga bobtail at 40mph and having the back of the truck slide 2 ft into the next lane....
my 2009 (company) prostar with X-One XDN2 was great in the rain but a P-O-S in the snow..... had to get towed 3X in 1 week..... 1 time the truck was stuck on a FLAT paved parking lot with 2 in. of hard pack snow
I'm a O/O now and run duels.....
