This is so sad, again, nice going driver. Does anyone have an answer why there are so many inattentive truck crashes? Is it because of the internet, we hear of everyone that happens? I just don't understand how a truck driver can become so removed from their job, that this can go on. Especially in S.Cal. where traffic is bound to stop. Years ago, I rarely remember someone, especially trucks, running into stopped traffic. It has to be the cell phone. Something as dangerous as the cell phone is allowed to exist. People laugh at the CB nowadays, but years ago, it was literally a life saver. I always had it on, and many times ,was warned of situations up ahead. Probably would have saved this little girls life. How would you feel about trucks, if that was your little peanut?
Semi Crazy and drvrtech77 Thank this. -

I think it maybe because of the internet we see more of them than normal. A lot of people are saying it's distracted driving, which it very well could be. But this isn't a new phenomenon, just ask anyone who has crossed the Peace Bridge from Ft. Erie into Buffalo. Before 9/11 it wasn't uncommon for commercial traffic waiting to cross the Peace Bridge to be back up 6 or miles waiting on customs. It seemed at least once a month some poor soul that wasn't fromthe area would up wacking a truck stopped in the right lane and getting killed. This was long before smart phones, iPods, and GPS systems being as common place as they are now."semi" retired Thanks this. -
