I always get eye contact when I am against a moving truck, check the cab when the truck is still, and make sure I walk out far enough out where I am not hidden by the nose.I'm sorry drivers, but isnt this all common sense?
At night I do turn my headlights off in parking lots out of respect for others in there trucks, but Immma creepin.
Please remember to slow down and pay attention at the truckstop

Hmmmm, Canadian driver in a box truck? I'll bet his name has too many consonants and not enough vowels.
And a trucker's wife in her sixties is most likely not very spry, especially after a meal.
Just conjecture on my part, carry on.browndawg Thanks this. -
The speeding problem can only get worse with an ELD on the dashboard flashing out of time. The driver will hit the off duty button when he comes off the ramp, trying to beat it to the parking space before it automatically goes back to driving and violate him. Do you think he will be exercising proper caution?
Thanks ATA and the FMCSA.

I know with my company that doest fly well... if you run your clock down to the last 15 minutes too often you get routed to a terminal, where you have a safety hold on you.. you then have to go talk to safety... from there if you are lucky, they will assign you 3 to 4 CBTs. (Computer Based Training).. on trip planning, time management, HOS and such... once you have done and passed them you go talk to safety again where they inform you that if you run your clock down to the last half-hour in the next 90 days you will be brought back to the termianal and further action will be taken...
There have been times when I pushed it and got to a truck stop with only a few minutes of HOS left.. but, I also got a message to call the log department or the safety department...
Now, with the company I was with on loose leaf logs.. and rolling into a truck stop after 16 hours of driving to fuel and grab a couple Red Bulls so I can get to my recievers 3 more hours down the road... I was more a danger than I am now on qualcomm. ... -

Not to steal the thread but...
I am not concerned with the companies that are doing it right, like yourcompany.. In addition to all of the extra training about time management, they also have trained operations not to put you in a time deficient circumstance. They probably have made arrangements for parking options etc etc etc.
The poor quality carriers who will just stick the ELD on the dash and say good luck. No training, no support. That is going to be the majority out here, just like now.Big Don and BrenYoda883 Thank this. -
I start my day with a game plan... and even a plan B.... so I know ahead of time where I am gonna fuel, where I am gonna shut down... I already know if it is a big or small truck stop... so when I do roll into a truck stop I can roll slow and alert... -
