Looks like this week is going out with a bang, as far as truck accidents. Big mystery, "for some reason, at 2:30 am, one truck crashed into another". :biggrin_25518:

I'll hazard a guess at a truck parked on the shoulder for some non-emergency reason, pulling off the shoulder without indicating, and rear ended by another travelling highway speed and not paying too much attention.

I came through that stretch yesterday & there were three wrecks that had the interstate clogged up. One on the east bound side had a couple of big truck & a few 4 wheeler's in it. The east bound side was closed & they were routing traffic around off the interstate. Now this one last night.

Drivers cannot blame bad judgement on log books. I stop and take naps on a regular basis, you have 3 hours that enable you to do this.

you sir have a handle on the situation for you, but there are companies that still have drivers setting all day after unloading making check calls every 30 mins or so, then loading late in the day ,,, then be 600 miles by 0700 the next morning,,, i could do that once in a week but after that dispatch and i had a problem ... their answer was usually to not load me for a day or more after i told them i was tried ,.... that particular company and i parted ways the second time i got back to the terminal... but the point i was making el logs and and some drivers that are afraid of retaliation from dispatch (no miles or very crappy loads, or job loss and bad references) will try to run when they are unsafe with disastrous results... they are penalized for trying to run safe or to scared say NO
