The driver is going down no matter what.

 

This is why you need [every chance you get] to tell those close to you you love them and keep your life insurance updated and sufficient if applicable. All the good, and defensive driving in the world can't help you much when large vehicles are completely crossing the median into your lane, at high speed, out of the blue.

Northbound semi on I-35 "departed" his lanes and hit the southbound bus, sheering the driver's side of the bus (although the driver was unhurt). The accident is being investigated as a homicide.

I'm not familiar with that stretch of I-35. Is there much of a shoulder on the median side? If not, then how wide is the median? It doesn't take much on some of these freeways to lose a set of wheels off the edge of the road and get sucked down and across in a hurry.

 

"But it took about an hour before we found the semi." was that hit n run?

 

Another black mark on the industry. RIP to those young women.

 

I read a report on fox that the semi driver may have been impaired by alcohol or drugs...cant find what trucking company it was..

It didn't say anything about the driver being impaired. It stated the use of drugs or alcohol wasn't ruled out. No different that any accident involving a big truck... The driver has to get tested right away and then after the results come back the ruling will be final....
