People let their hatred of Walmart cloud their vision on a subject such as this.

Walmart would be in violation of their fiduciary duties as a publicly held company if they did not do everything possible to defend this case. That would open them up for lawsuits from stockholders.

Any company would do the exact same thing. I feel bad for TM's injuries, however I am sure a settlement was offered. He decided that, as a celebrity, any publicity is good publicity and he knows that there is a great deal of hatred for success/Walmart and truck drivers in general. So he accelerated the entire situation with blanket statements about Walmart Transportation, so he can win with public opinion. It doesn't matter how safe of a company Walmart Transportation is. They are one of those "evil" truck driving companies whose entire purpose in life is to be road rogues killing everyone in their wake and ignoring all laws of the road. Thus, they play into the publics hatred of not only Walmart, but also of all truck drivers/companies......... all in one fell swoop.

We should be offended that truck drivers are portrayed in this manner, instead of being offended that Walmart is defending itself.

Walmart is the low of the low, it's not even about hating them at this point. They continue to ensure that we all know what kind of people run it. Them saying this is like if Zimmerman said it was Trayvon's fault for not wearing a bulletproof vest.

you have no clue, probably one of the bitter ones not qualified.

Trayvon was not required to wear a bullet proof vest by law. However NJ law requires everyone to be buckled up regardless the type of vehicle. So yes since they where not buckled up they could be partly to blame for their injuries. Walmart is not denying their involvement or fault just saying would the injuries been less had they been buckled up.

so get your head out of the sand ..........

Hey joseph, I guess we can pretty much tell who works for Walmart. I don't hate Walmart, although, I do believe Sam Walton is spinning in his grave if he did a "pop in" on some of the stores in my area.

This isn't even about hating Walmart. The defenders, however, will come out swinging. And they have. Facts remain, this Walmart driver was speeding, was fatigued in every sense of the word and slammed into the back of this bus, killing one and injuring others. I don't care if this was Swift, Prime or Lessors or Billy Bob's Big Rig company. Because of the driver's actions, a man is dead and others are serverly injured, possibly with life long effects. Obviously Walmart is looking for a way out, but to say it was anyone's fault but their driver is unreal.

would he be alive today if he was buckled up ? would the injuries be less if they where where buckled up ? quit being so naive they know they are at fault and not denying that... but a judge and or jury will take in affect they where not properly restrained according to NJ LAW.......

And your correct what does it have to do with Walmart ? It happens to other companies every day and they will proceed the same way thats how the legal system works.

They deserve to be paid and will , they rejected a settlement offer now its time to battle in court as any company would do

It is called building a DEFENCE and that's what WALMARTS LAWYERS are doing just entering the facts not claiming that it was everyone's fault but their driver but injuries , pain , suffering , death could have been lessened if they wore seat belts
