Correct me if i'm wrong, Most of the Ground Tractor Trailer routes is Drop n Hooks.
Kinda curious what the majority is on pay structure, Is it on Salary per week, Day rate, Mileage or hourly? I guess it depends on the Contractor and no solid answer ?

I like the ground guys at my daily stops, Can't say I dislike yall, It's a job, Always a few bad apples :biggrin_2559:

Yes about 98 percent is drop and hook. One percent is guys delivering to local warehouses and the other percent like me back up into a dock with a 53 and they unload me but those are mostly for Fedex smartpost.

Everyone pays per mile and some contractors will pay you the drop and hook but not many. If you get local/regional you work Monday thru Friday and can get extra run on sunday. Teams run Tuesday thru Saturday or Sunday morning. As a team driver you should be paid above .46 cpm to .60 cpm split. When you run local/regional most will pay .44 cpm to .46 cpm
Pay does not depend on years with fedex, it depends on what contractor wants to pay you.

Similar to my company, Nothing is all one sized fits all nationwide policies etc ( ABF ) .... One of The Distribution Centers go to daily has a Smart post and the other I guess yall call it just regular ground. Both are Drop n Hooks. Assuming it varies at each area/ Contract agreement with customers.

I'll never understand FEDEX, Good thing is not getting slave wages.

Yes. Smartpost is just U.S mail. It's drop and hook hub to hub but when smartpost delivers to its final destination it's 53 ft van.
Fedex ground is also hub to hub drop n hook.

Both are loaded on fedex ground trailers.

Negative, Sometimes chat with the ground guys at my stops waiting to bump doors. Employed with ABF.
Mentioned earlier at the Distribution Center. Two Ground guys will roll in same time ( 1 is smart post other is regular ) Never bothered to ask what is smart post. Both drop n hooks. Yard jockey dude puts in the empties.

Can't speak for others. My route has it's down times waiting for doors. Social Butterfly when it comes to downtime and on the clock. Always in the loop about other local job prospects. Would hate to be blindsided with any employer, Always keep my ears open.
