To file lost revenue you need to show your per day losses with their claim department.
But if you are a company driver you will have to talk with your people on how they are taking care of you.
Plus it will not be paid every day. You will need to file notice of lost revenue claim and then file it when the trk. is fixed then submit that claim also with the other invoices for repair etc.

Do not mention home time when filing a claim, it can cut into your claim, yes you can be home having repairs done, but then they might not want to pay for motel and travel costs.
Get everything in writing. No verbal ok's. Hard to prove them.
Hope you were in a proper parking spot or they might say you were at fault also due to you not being parked in a proper spot.

The police said "because it was on private property, an accident report will not be recorded".

He gave us both a form to fill out & mail in to the TX DOT. Long story short, is this going to appear on my records as an "accident", even though I couldn't prevent it ?

I've never parked anywhere other than the exact middle of a parking space with a line painted on each side, (in a truck stop).

I do the same, it's all about the details. I'm guessing and only guessing because I've never had to deal with the TX DOT that since it was private property it's not gonna be on your record at all. Now insurance wise is a different story. By details I'm referring to parking in the middle of a designated space.

I don't see how this accident is going to be on his record since he was not driving the truck at the time, and he was parked legally.

It shouldn't show up anywhere actually.....No dot form done....you were parked&nit cited so it isn't reportable ....no different than if you weren't in the truck at the time.....been thru couple of these...never shows anywhere&of course CRE pickin it up...theyre self insured and don't want the hassle of dealin w/your ins co. &their underwriters&YES you can get every Xtra penny outta of em...trouble is.....Usually then claims have to be filed ins&lawyers involved&it drags on....which is why they typically say take to shop&we will pay bill..no fuss no muss for either side&your boss goes along....simply because fault or not ANYTIME you get your insurance company involved it affects Your rates.....But depends on your Ins guy....we r small ours is good&when Smurf...tore up my last ride...back into &hook locked into a dock w/me inside building....Our Ins guy took Omaha to the cleaners....but it took almost 18mos.....good luck

Like Stormdriven & olhand said, it was on private property & there was no state form filled out. I've been involved in an accident twice in my life that was on a parking lot (private property) once was at a Pilot. Since its on private property, it wont even be turned in to the state because it wasn't on public property (roadway etc). It stays on file as an accident "incident" at the police department that handled that. That's what I was told both times by the cops & the accidents never showed up on any MVR or DOT paperwork.... anywhere. According to the cops, since its not turned in to the state, it doesn't show on the guy at fault either. Its just a free accident for him. So, for the OP, your still good with your driving record. No one down the road will ever know unless you tell them.
