mine was driveable..
Hood was messed up sideways and I saw fluid leaking and wasn't sure what all was wrong so called company and they routed a truck over and repowered load and promised in the morning to route a tow truck and offered a motel room(I declined)..
In the morning I got to looking what all was wrong and determined that radiator and all driveline was intact it was just washer fluid and PSteering resevouir damaged..
Did a pre-trip for lights and signals and although cracked lights still worked..
wired hood shut and rolled..
Drove truck to yard w just man power steering and saved huge bill for tow/road repair ..

I guess the law is different in TX. I had a Werner truck park next to me a couple of years back at that Pilot on he south side of 285 in Atlanta... Idiot pulled out way too close to me and took off my p/s mirror and a good portion of the hood when he cut hard right pulling out (tail swing). DeKalb county police came out and did a full investigation complete with computer animation and even though both of us stuck around and the other driver claimed responsibility the report still got filed and it still shows on my record as an accident, albeit one where I was found to not be at fault.

I started nosing in when possible after this:

ShortBusKid and double yellow Thank this. -
Was training at CRE last few weeks. The safety manager was in setting up a "gate" exercise.
Guess they have 80% of their accidents at truck stops.
I guess that 3 hours of actual driving time and the 40 hours of videos, should be enough to produce a safe driver.
I'm kinda glad I failed my test.
I know I need more training before hitting the road.
Celedon here I come. -
I was hit twice 2 years ago in Love's. One by a run-away Fud-Ex Custom Critical 6-wheeler (forgot to set his brakes after fueling). It was my 1st brand new truck in 5 years and had 6000 miles on it. Pushed the hood half way up the windshield...bent and broke all sorts of pieces/parts. Company tried to stick me in a 400k mile ragged Cascadia....said *bleep* no. They ended up sending me to the company's paint and body man...and it was repaired back to usable DOT condition the next day...but needed to be returned to near new condition (since Fudex was paying for it) which was going to take days. When I asked for breakdown compensation the company said that getting it was next to impossible because as a 5000 truck fleet our company had no reason to detain me for repairs because they could have simply given me a different unit to drive....and also because I told them to shove that scanky Cascadia where they had room for it.
The 2nd was good 'ole CRE...he was trying to back into a parking spot across from me (with 6 empty spots beside me since I was in the middle). Folded my passenger mirror in to my door and put a nice new pin stripe down my fender...then gave up and tried to leave. I threw on pants and chased him down while trying to put on a coat in 10° weather. He denied it was him that hit me until I pointed out that the blue paint he scraped off my fender was still stuck to the rivets on his trailer. -
I just want to know who's teeth you kicked out first, the driver or the trainer for letting the driver do that?
Pedigreed Bulldog and Stormdriven Thank this.
