Wonder what he's gonna do now that his trucking career is over...
There is no greater preventable accident than this example. He's extremely lucky to escape that mistake with his life.road_runner Thanks this. -
Isn't that a cng operated tractor-trailer too...??

Nice going, yutz. Like KW Cajun sez, pretty hard to talk your way out of this one. Here's another report. I love how at 48 seconds, a UPS truck just happens to go by. UPS's PR dept. probably said, "Get a truck out there right away".

But boss "He HIT me!!!!"semi" retired Thanks this. -
The train was really good, he only had 28' of trailer to aim at.
Mr Ed Thanks this. -
It doesn't appear to be CNG powered as far as I can tell. Looks like a diesel tank (with cap) on the driver's side.

One of my coworkers came in right behind the CWF driver to deliver more freight and saw the aftermath and took some pics. According to my coworker, there was a large panel of the trailer stuck to the top of the train. The wreck happened at 2 PM yesterday and cleanup crews were out there till about 8 PM cleaning it up still. Luckily it was a rural road leading to a frontage road. Had this happened in nearby Bozeman or Belgrade, it would have been chaotic. I can tell you right now that they will be looking at his work/personal phone records to see if he was using those during the final minutes leading to the accident.
On a side note, I delivered that area two weeks ago and crossed the same tracks. They are only active about once every 2 weeks for a train or two. Really really bad timing.KW Cajun Thanks this. -
It really was a careless mistake that should not have happened. He crossed the tracks once to get into a dead end road to make a delivery. His only option was to cross over again. -
Yeah, I Google mapped it earlier and that road is "90 miles of nuthin'". (90 miles being just a figure of speech)
I wasn't sure if he came off Hwy 84 to the south, and hadn't crossed the tracks OR if he was returning from his northern entry point by I-90, and had crossed them on the way in.
Yep, there's no messin' around in RR/truck crashes. They'll cover all bases and even know if he called McD's that morning to complain his egg mcmuffin was cold. lol
