Three police officers were partying, then got into a car to go home. Toxicology tests are being done, but this isn't looking good.

My thoughts are to the deceased and injured, and to the driver of the big rig that was hit.

The story notes that the Honda Civic drove straight at "two tractor-trailers in the predawn darkness--- with the first swerving to avoid the oncoming vehicle before the car plowed directly into the second big rig".

When I read that I couldn't help but wonder how closely the second truck was following the first truck. Having safe following distance doesn't necessarily mean you are going to have to slow in time if the vehicle in front of you makes a mistake, it also means having time to see and react to any danger they see in front of THEM.

Plus the truck driver and carrier incur CSA points. Remember that recent bridge collapse that destroyed that tractor trailer in Indiana I think it was, the big story was the driver and carrier got hit with CSA points on that too.

It's interesting that the story noted the truck driver's blood alcohol was already tested and he is clear. Wonder why it's taking so long to release the same information about the police officers?

I suppose they're trying to protect the policemen! They said they wre very good policemen, are policemen who drive while drinking really good policemen? I think not.

So sad, drinking and driving is a deadly situation, especially in modern day times with so much more traffic on our highways.

I live in rural American, and have had several friends died because of drunk drivers. Thankfully this truck driver did not get killed by the drunk policemen.

Wow he has been a none stop accident since 2005 and they allow him to carry a gun?
Those that cant make it as truck drivers can become cops as being a law abiding citizen or a safe driver has nothing to do with being a cop.

OldHasBeen, FatDaddy and Lepton1 Thank this.
