What's really troubling is ... one would assume this particular truck would be operated by a "local" (day-cab, intermodal). I guess new drivers can be clueless about local issues, regardless where they grew up

I think the locals can be just as bad, know quite a few local NYC drivers that sneak around where they really shouldn't be because they always have gotten away with it. Also, "local" can be 300 miles away with a daycab, yes you get to know the areas you run normally, still no excuse for hitting a bridge, if in doubt check it out.
