    What's really troubling is ... one would assume this particular truck would be operated by a "local" (day-cab, intermodal). I guess new drivers can be clueless about local issues, regardless where they grew up

    I think the locals can be just as bad, know quite a few local NYC drivers that sneak around where they really shouldn't be because they always have gotten away with it. Also, "local" can be 300 miles away with a daycab, yes you get to know the areas you run normally, still no excuse for hitting a bridge, if in doubt check it out.

    come on you are not being fair........there is no way that the driver ran into the bridge....its more like the bridge jump in the drivers way and the bridge should be cited..

    Yea that was far from a close call,more like seeing a brickwall in front of you and saying oh Yea I can make it.
