Think what you may about what I am about to say. The driver of the SUV , the damage and the potential of injury or death to innocent people, just because she is "screwed up" in the head, no she doesn't need to be "counseled" she needs to be prosecuted, found guilty and either executed or put away for "life".

She probably doesn't have a "pot to pee in" and probably was driving without insurance, but if all possible, the driver of the truck should pursue whatever charges, criminal or civil, against this "brain dead" human being. She doesn't belong in society.

Once again, a dash cam saves the day. Could you imagine trying to explain that without any proof? I've seen cops on an exit ramp like that, so coming up on it, it would be hard to tell what's going to happen. Wasn't much the truck driver could have done. Careful out there, drivers.

Only mistake the truck driver made was attempting to avoid the SUV their by striking another car and resulting in the roll over. He should have applied the deer principle. Hold steering wheel as tight as possible, maintain straight line and take out. Less damage in the long run and far less chance of driver injury. TAKE THEM OUT.

Well Im willing to bet that with that kinda impact, the steer axle would not be where it used to be, so how ya gonna keep it strait at that point??

In 100% agreement with you, but human instinct is hard to overcome. I was taught to maintain your lane no matter what, human instinct teaches us to get away from danger and so we turn the wheel. It brings up the issue of merging traffic with traffic to your left and the merging traffic is trying to force you to either get over or stop. I almost took a truck out the other day in Harrisonburg, Va. at exit 243 both northbound and southbound traffic that is exiting merges into one lane, the southbound has two "yield" signs, the northbound traffic that is exiting has the "right of way", this truck came right thru the two "yield" signs, I never let off, never intended to, he scrambled and I mean he scrambled. I maintained my lane!!!!

I hate that, up in the Northeast and oh man New England :biggrin_25510:
People seriously do NOT know wtf a "yield" sign means and there is no "on ramp" and these people just gun it right into the highway expecting everybody to move out of the for them.
One time was I was in MA and actually saw in front of me a car drive onto the highway and drove right into a truck. People out there would rather crash into you then WAIT until it's safe to enter.

I think you are being rather charitable. I would throw the book at this gal. No excuses, no defense. She's a real menace to everyone.
I feel sorry for the truck driver who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lets hope HE recovers and can continue driving. If anyone needs "counseling" it's HIM!!
Imagine if this heinous act had been perpetrated by a trucker? OMG all hell would have broken loose.
She should be banned for LIFE and given jail time. There's too much emphasis on the "counseling" topic with regard to her situation. You honestly think they can "cure" her just by a bunch of counseling sessions.
I wonder how many times she has tried to commit Hari-Kari.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lawyer doesn't go after her for an attempted vehicular manslaughter charge.
Get her banned because theres no guarantee that she would do this stupid act again and again. No trust here, going forward.
In any event, I would say that she's going to find it almost impossible to get insurance in the future. Which ins co would want to touch a crazy gal like her.
Unfortunately, you are probably going to get lawsuits against the trucking co. This is lawsuit city capital of the world. It's going to happen. It's the domino effect. People will find any excuse to sue.
And let's hope that common sense will prevail with regards the FMCSA and that they won't put "points" on his CSA or on the trucking co.
Oh wait a minute, what am I saying. Common sense/FMCSA ?? WTF !!
How can we ever think that common sense ever comes out of a Govt agency.
    Especially that lot!!

I have zero compassion for the lady that tried to commit suicide. She needs to be locked up in a room with a straight jacket on.If she wanted to kill herself why didn't she just buy an assisted suicide kit online instead of trying to take other motorist with her.Hope they all are alright.

Forget the semi n pickup, how about that Nissan visa (w.e u called it) not giving a #### trying to go around lol. Probably like just another crazy day on the interstate.

But the semi driver try to maintain his lane, only after the impact the truck jack up N roll. Assuming the steer tire got ripe apart. The pickup trucker never touch the trailer but looks like he didn't have abs and went into the ditch.
