Yipes.

Man, I hate seeing things like that in areas I know well...

How come he was trying for the median instead of the shoulder? No one let him over?
-

Might not have been trying for the median.
Might have been on the right, got hit, and just slid over to the left.
Is it a right hand bend? If so, this would be a strong possibility.Last edited by a moderator: Apr 9, 2015

This is one of those wrecks where a lot of details are still unknown. Even basic details like lane positions and such. -
I know it's normal to see idiotic comments whenever a truck is involved in an accident, but this comment in my original link?
"This is analogous to a major league pitcher hitting a batter. The pitcher has excellent control, but decides to hit a batter bc a previous batter hit a home run and the pitcher is sending a message. Some truckers often try to intimidate drivers in small cars. They speed in traffic when it is not conducive; for example, during times when Road Work is done; if your car is stopped on the HWY they'll hit you if they feel they can get away with it. As long as they have no alcohol in their blood or drugs, they get off with vehicular murder. There is no way this professional driver should have veered to hit a stalled vehicle. This is Sport to them. This HWY is dangerous bc it has no where for a motorist to get out of the vehicle to find a safe distance. Once my car stalled on R. 57. It was on the shoulder. I got out and walked in the ditch about 20 yards away from my vehicle where I called a tow truck. I know what truckers will do; especially at night. I didn't know some of them are brazen enough to do harm in mid-day. Some truckers are very dangerous. They should not be allowed to speed down none of the Chicago's downtown HWY's where you have stop and go traffic. Give them one lane at 30 MPH until they are off the Dan Ryan and other major arteries."
